China's Another West-East Power Transmission Channel Approved

Recently, the Longdong-Shandong ± 800 kV UHV DC transmission project of State Grid Corporation of China was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. This is another major energy transmission channel built in Gansu Province after the ± 800 kV Qishao UHV DC transmission and transformation project.

The project ends at Shishe converter station in Qingyang, Gansu Province, and Tai'an West converter station in Shandong Province, with a total investment of 20188 million yuan, a transmission capacity of 8 million kilowatts, a total length of 926.4 kilometers, and 109.2 kilometers in Gansu Province. The line passes through Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Hebei and Shandong provinces. This project is one of the major channels of the national power transmission from the west to the east. As an important carrier of the "Longdong power transmission" strategy in Gansu Province, the project will bundle the coal power, wind power and photovoltaic new energy in Longdong to Shandong, which is of great significance for promoting the development of energy resources in Longdong, Gansu Province, promoting the clean and low-carbon transformation of energy, strengthening the security of power supply, helping the economic and social development of Ganlu, and serving the "double carbon" goal.
